I can't do it online it seems I have to call. Tempted to just cancel DD.
Yeah that's where I got to, when you select yes and put in your number, it then says can't do it online.I think this is the link
Telling us you don't need a TV Licence - TV Licensing ™
Let us know if you don’t need a TV Licence. But, if you watch or record programmes as they're being shown on TV, then you do need to be covered by one.www.tvlicensing.co.uk

That's deliberate to make you phone up. Then the people on the phone will grill you and tell you that you need a license even if you don't. Bs them just to get through the process, if you answer honestly they will refuse to process the no license needed.Yeah that's where I got to, when you select yes and put in your number, it then says can't do it online.
Or do what I did mid phone-call after being quizzed about what I was watching... put the phone down and cancel the direct debit. That's deliberate to make you phone up. I had to escalate to the manager, then to complaints, then to legal, and ofc the legal person agreed with me because I was right.
I've seen others say this but isn't it fraud? I'm all for cancelling it as I genuinely hardly use it and so can easily simply stop using it completely and so don't need a licence. But all the stuff I'm reading about the visits, letters, possible warrants - to be honest I may just keep paying it to not have the hassle of all that and the risk.Tell them you're dead![]()

If they do knock, or before they do, remove the implied right of access to them.Cave in to bullies and intimidation huh?
I don't watch broadcast TV and I don't have a license, I just get the letters which are thrown in the bin. Never had anyone knocking on the door and if they do I'll tell them to FO
It doesn't make any difference as the harassment letters are addressed to "The Legal Occupier".Tell them you're dead![]()

is in the dungeon? That aerial is down there somewhere. Just reach around a bit more...Then tell them the tvis in the dungeon?
I dont think you can anymore. Last I heard phoning is the only way to cancel now and they send you though a phone gauntlet to cancel. Unless sending an old fashioned letter still works? Though I wouldn't be surprised if they "lost" the letter and so didn't cancel. But you can cancel without phoning.
