I've just tried my PS3 on the tele i'm taking to uni via HDMI and the tv is reporting that there is "No Signal". I've tried re-setting the PS3, and tried with AV cables (which work), and then setting the HDMI manually. But this failed. Has any1 else got any ideas? It is a brand new tele, fully HD supported. I think the HDMI port might be buggered? Which is strange because the component worked with my 360, and all the other ports out of it work.

Use the other tv plug, go into options and tick all the hd resolutions in the setup, i had to do this with my ps3.
the other tv plug? Do u mean the scart connector?
Did you try holding the reset button down for a few seconds on the PS3 untill it beeps a couple of times? This will force the PS3 to auto detect the TV output, so if you have just the HDMI lead plugged in the PS3 will use that.
Not that i know of. With my other tv it's on 1080i, but when i try and use the hdmi on the other tele it says no signal. But if i use "AV2" (composite) it will work and automatically go to 576i. I just can't work out why it says "No Signal"...
the problem is i can't get to that menu, because it is trying to set the hdmi through the av cable.
I saw a case where a Samsung HDTV and PS3 just wouldn't get along when using HDMI. It worked with another PS3 so that pointed to the connector or cable being at fault.
Yep - if you can get it back to a default state, then try to use HDMI from the off. My one's never had anything but HDMI connected.

I had this problem when going from the lounge TV to my TV in my room, both Samsungs holding the reset button worked for me.
I had a problem resetting mine when swapping between HD and SD sets. Found that to reset it properly you need to unplug all the video out leads from the back of the ps3 and then hold the power button for 5 secs to reset it. Then just plug in the correct cable you want to use and jobs a good un.

i had a lil prob with with mine and i was using hdmi from the start the screen flashes blue for an instant before the start of every game ,and if i play r&c then go to another game the screen will go and stay blue its annoying as hell but i just work around it .
Thats the TV going between resolutions, most games are 720P and normally the XMB is 1080i/P. It used to annoy me so i deselected the 1080i option and it stopped it, i dont notice it much on my new TV.
Thanks for all the replys, but i think it's the actual TV so it's going back for a replacement tommorow.
The other thing is i've had the PS3 crash during Pes2008 demo, and the browser twice last night, and when hlolding down the "PS" button during a game launch to quit it, a God almighty screech came out and wouldnt stop! Then when i reset the console i had half a picture!! Also this morning, when i tried to quit F1 it re-setted the console... All seems to be ok now though..
Has this happened to anyone else? Is it time already that i sent it back to the shop??? Or just an unlucky day???
