TV PVR Freeware (if possible) program?

I'm after something that basically just shows TV, EPG, and can record to hard disk (scehduled) nothing more nothing less really! I don't want a full blown media center app which is all i seem to be able to find. Just something i can open up like VLC and use if need be in the background... But slim and lightweight as opposed to BG-PVR and media portal which are bloated bloated apps...

i dunno if it only works with hauppauge cards, but winTV can do that (there's also some web-based PVR/tv guide (EPG service), but it's not very snappy.

Thats the thing WinTV is useless really, there must be something thats been half decently coded, in fact i know there is and i use to use it, i just can remember the ******* name of it!

It was pretty unknown, and the support forum was very personally with the developers in two separate forums german and english. It wasn't free but was well worth the price if i remember correctly

I find Windows Media Center works really well.

the one that ships with all the cheapy usb sticks is ok its called blaze they do a hdtv version aswell

i have a compro usb tv stick and the software is really good and not clunky at all it can be freely downloaded from their site
