After a TV purchase I'm preparing to put my front room back together. I've been offered advice on a better way of attaching things - just wanted to gauge some opinions.
So we have a nice new Sony 55XE9305 TV.
Via HDMI 3 (ARC & 4k/UHD) we go to the ARC port on my Yamaha RX-V581 receiver.
Into the receiver I have a Sky Box and a Blu-Ray Player
Before my TV upgrade, I also had my PS4 Pro attached to the receiver too.
However, with my TV I will want to be using a different picture setting. Somebody advised me to plug the PS4 Pro directly into HDMI 2 (4k/UHD) port on the TV and using ARC to get the 5.1 audio back out to the receiver.
The advantage here is that I can simply switch the PS4 Pro on, input will change and as the "Gaming" picture profile is associated with that HDMI port, it'll automatically change the TV.
Will things work as described above or will I, as somebody else suggested, possibly have issues with this setup?
The alternative is that I attach the PS4 Pro directly to the Yamaha as I always have done - all that means is an additional few seconds as I manually change the picture profile. Certainly a first world problem, but if could be avoided - all the better.
Cheers all.
