I have a Samsung Smart TV which is hooked up to my Sky box and my Onkyo 2:1 sound system < this is connected via optical out and the Sky is via HDMI

Ever since I have had this set up what really really bugs me is the varying sound levels produced. I have gone into the TV set up and set it to auto adjust but if I listen via the SKy box I have to turn the level up quite high but then if listen to things on my NAS box which is via the optical out I have to turn it down .. and in some cases (various scenes) the noise is incredibly loud at no point does the sound auto adjust

Is there anyway/ configuration I can get it so that the levels are equal no matter what sound is produced, as at the moment I have to sit with my Onyko control moving the volume up and down?

Thanks for the replies

is there a set up that you can buy (sound bar another 2:1) where you can have the best of both worlds? Or is it simply not realistic to expect?

I am open to new set ups if it means I can gain some control as at present this is driving me nuts, and as has been pointed out I am not the only one. Surely there is a solution?
