My amp is located remotely rom the Tv and the hdmi connection will be over Cat6 cable.
Any advice on passing sound back from my TV to my amplifier receiver?

In detaiils:

My amplifier is located on a different floor of the house and 20m away from TV. I opted for the HDMI Extender option (OCTAVA extender) with just a CAT6E cable, unconnected 3.5mm audio cable and satellite cable running from amp to tv area; HDMI connects at both ends of Cat 6 to tv and amp (in hindsight and regrettably, a decent 20m HDMI cable would have sufficed and done the job)

The problem I am faced with is I am unable to receive sound back to my amp/connected speakers whenever I play movies or music via the TV smart hub, youtube, netflix. In the past, a direct HDMI connection between my amp and TV with ARC functionality worked for this (amp switches automatically to mode ’ TV/CD’ where I can hear the sound playback. However as the OCTAVA extender does not support ARC although has HDMI-CEC, I am unable to get any sound back via amp.

Running a new digital optical cable or new HDMI cable would be impossible due to the way the walls were built although I do have a spare 5m HDMI cable running from the TV to another area in the house, still a distance away from amp.

Any idea on options to consider in getting the sound back from tv to amp.

HDMI extender with ARC capability?
Wireless sound transmitter to amp?

is it possible to use the tv as a monitor/display and use a pc with a tv card as the player connected into the amp.

that way no sound is originating on the tv, all audio and video is originating on the pc...
