TV/Soundbar query?

Hi,

I have a quick TV/Soundbar question - can anyone please help.

I currently have a Samsung Sound bar which works wirelessly with my Samsung TV connection through the Soundshare connection. This works great – when I turn on the TV the soundbar automatically turns on and when I change the TV volume via the TV remote the soundbar volumes changes.

I’m looking to buy a new LG TV and would like to know if it will work in the same way?
Or will I need to use two separate remotes?

Thanks :)

They should work the same way if both support HDMI-CEC.

Edit: Probably not wireless through, will need a HMDI connection between TV and soundbar.

It’s a Samsung FW551 soundbar from 2013.
It has Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC), Soundshare, Bluetooth and ARC connectivity

Should work no problems, I just got a new LG TV myself and the magic remote automatically set up the connections with my AVR itself so it controls volume etc.

Connect via HDMI (to the port on the TV with ARC), TV remote will control volume and it'll turn on/off with the TV. :)
Thanks.
My PS4 then goes directly to the soundbar via an optical connection or straight to the TV via HDMI?

It can go to soundbar or TV via HDMI. No need for optical cable. Ensure HDMI cable between TV and soundbar is plugged into the one marked ARC.

Thanks.

Either or, personally I have all my sources go to the TV via HDMI for simplicity and so I can have each input labelled correctly.

Although doing it all into the TV you are missing out on some high res audio formats. eARC will solve that though.
