Did a search as thought there maybe a thread regarding this, but couldn’t see anything (was a quick search tbh).

Just picked up a 48” OLED tv for the soon to be man cave, so looking for something to put it in along with a PS5 & Xbox. Now ideally I’d like to keep them vertical, so they would probably either have to be on top or ideally in the unit, but would have to be open for ventilation. Ideally quite modern so probably gloss white or something at least modern looking.

Had a look at usual furniture sites but just wondering what stands/units people have or recommend?

I swore that when it came time for me to buy a Media unit I would never get an Ikea Besta.

Many hours later after searching different furniture website and retailers I have conceded and realised that the Besta is the best.

Versatility and price is unbeatable. :(

There does seem to be supply issues with some of the Besta parts at the moment, I designed my ideal layout using their Besta designer on the website, only to get to the end and find half of the parts are completely out of stock. Some colours, doors etc are available but others aren't, annoyingly.

Also worth mentioning with the Besta is that IKEA do a TV bracket that fits on the back so your TV can be suspended which would free up the top for a soundbar, speakers etc.

Ooh now that sounds interesting, like wall mounting without the faff of drilling in the wall. Thanks for the suggestions i will have a look at the Besta, if there’s a enough parts in stock!

Yep, it's this one:

This was the design I came up with, my plan is to put my consoles on top of the raised unit on the left to make a bit of a feature out of them with some storage for games etc below, soundbar on top of the main unit, and BT box in the open gap below that. Just need the parts to come back into stock...

BESTA!

With the added glass top and ASH gloss wood grained drawers.

Looks very nice, though my concern with new consoles is overheating and ventilation in horizontal slots, we spent a good bit on solid oak furniture in the living room and my Xbox One X used to sound like a jet engine and shut off.

So think going to have to go with having them vertically on the top, I like TheVoice’s idea of making a feature of them.

I do find there's very few stands that seem to accommodate an amp and a centre speaker. Even that best looks like it would struggle (not checked dimensions), I know I'm a dieing breed who doesn't want a soundbar:p.

There's also a taller besta unit that can fit a centre speaker above an av amp in the middle section.

Just for info, it looks like IKEA are getting the Besta range and some new additions (door/drawer fronts etc) in now.

Unfortunately it looks like the blue fronts I wanted are EOL so I'll have to choose something else.

Those with a Besta, is the top panel essential?

My CX will go on a Besta unit, is the top panel just a finishing touch, might leave it and save some money.

Yes the glass top is just an extra for aesthetics.

Thanks, that saved me a chunk of cash, I guess its good if you join a lot of besta carcasses together, the top panel will hide the joins, but Im getting the TV 2 unit besta with all the cable management and that doesn't seem to have any visible joins on top.
