tv streaming uk in spain

Hi, I want to set up something to stream the uk versions of tv services in Spain (netflix, iplayer, 4od, prime) in a holiday home. I use chrome on my tablet with the hola extension and that works well but I'm hoping for a more permanent solution that will just work Any suggestions?

Buy access to a VPN. There are loads of reputable ones. All you'll need to do is start up the software when you want it (or leave it on perms angle) and your computer will look like it's in the UK to the providers.

Edit: not sure what you mean by permanent. If you mean you have a house over there then perhaps you could buy a router you can install custom firmware on (or a higher end Asus one) and log on to the VPN from there. That way all internet requests will go via the UK.

Thanks I want a solution that ideally doesn't use a PC, so a simple android box or something connected to the internet with a remote to make the user experience easy.

Can you configure the router so it always logs on to the VPN automatically?

I want it to be always on, so that when people who aren't techy visit, like my mum and dad, it will just work.

Look at one of the many smart dns services.

You can do this with a vpn. You can enter your vpn provided username and password on android and apple devices. Then all traffic will go through the vpn per device.

Or you can enter your vpn account details on your router (if supported) so all devices connected will go through the vpn.

Yep, as asim said. If you input the details into a supported router it will always be on. That may be an issue if they want to access Spanish services though, as they will think it is a UK based computer trying to access.

VPN router definitely seems the way to go. I don't really care that Spanish geo locked services would be out. Thanks all

Best thing to do is sign up to one of the many IPTV services available and get something like a MAG250 box to make it a proper set-top box solution. There a large amount of companies offering this now in Spain since they took the satellite down previously providing UK TV.

Not to butt in, but I am looking for the same sort of thing, but my problem is I can't decide which VPN provider to use, I wont be using more than 50Gb/month as that's my providers limit.

Any recommendations for the cheapest reliable VPN service for this?

I have used tunnelbear free in the past but the price for a year seems excessive since it's only bandwidth that you are really paying for....

Private internet access, do a VPN for the PC as well as Android box
I have it on my note 4 phone as well.
