tv tuner for lcd monitor

my bedroom tv is broken and i was thinking of using my pc monitor with a tv tuner and upgrading my pc monitor instead of buying a new tv.(im thinking of eyefinity)
do you know any good tuners for this.

Also i have a feed from my sky box using the second tv out with a magic eye connected to the broken tv, would this still work as it allows me to change the sky channel from upstairs.
 
sry I;m not sure what you mean.

You mean you getting a TV card for your PC to watch TV on your current monitor or you want to get a montior with an in-built TV tuner?
 
neither I reckon. I think he wants a TV tuner with VGA or HDMI out?

Either way he needs to elaborate!
 
sorry i mean i want to replace the broken tv with my lcd monitor only(no pc),ive heard you can use a monitor as a tv if you buy a tv tuner for it and i have some external speakers for the sound.im thinking of doing this instead of buying a new tv as the cost of a new tv i could buy 2 monitors for that money,then i would only have to buy 1 more to run eyefinity and this way all the monitors would match.
 
A freeview box with HDMI output and upscaling is hard to come by. There are plenty of dvd recorder/Freeview boxes with HDMI out to choose from though.
 
i dont want a freeview box.the monitor i want to use is my samsung 2232bw this only has vga and dvi, also as its going in the bedroom, it picks up a feed from my sky box down stairs through the 2nd tv out socket on the sky box, i have also plugged in a magic eye to change the channels from upstairs.

what i want to do is throw the broken tv away and put my samsung monitor in its place.

i need this monitor to accept a sky feed

If i buy a dvd with upscaler, can i use a dvi-hdmi adapter to connect it to my monitor

also will i be able to plug the sky tv out into the dvd player, this would be a great way if this would work

yeah thats what i was after, but as Alfie has said i could use a dvd upscaler instead, it would be cheaper, would this work with a hdmi-dvi adapter as i dont have a hdmi port on the monitor, also the only signal i want to display on the monitor will be coming from my sky box downstairs through the rf output. Do dvd upscalers have rf outputs, if they do would a magic eye work with it.

thanks that looks good but my monitor doesnt have a vesa mount bu i could just lean it up against the monitor, do you think my magic eye would still work with this?
