my twin tv tuner given up the ghost. I was just wondering if I could install 2 twin tuners on my pc through media center? if this is possible was thinking of 1 twin twin freeview, 1 twin sat tuner. would this work? im using win7 64 os.

Windows 7 allows 4 of each type of tuner under Media Centre, so 4x DVB-T and 4x DVB-S would give you 4 freeview channels and 4 satellite channels concurrently. This is in addition to receiving the input from a set-top box, so you could record 9 different channels at once if you found enough worth watching!

I have a twin DVB-T and 2 single DVB-S cards in a media center.

I use media portal as it allows you to record multiple channels from the same Mux (block of channels) on a single tuner so depending what you record you aren't limited by the cards.

Only issue is that HD cards are really quite expensive and the basic cards only get SD

Takes a bit of setting up but more flexible than media center.

Or you could use something that isn't as limited as MCE when it comes to concurrent watch/record features. One channel per tuner ... in this day and age ... seriously Microsoft? ;)
