I've just upgraded my Nans phone package to now broadband + phone for £6 cheaper than her old phone only BT package.

I though great as she can now get iplayer and all the other on demand services as she loves her tele and has a smart TV. The TV in question is a Panasonic TX-49GX550B yet when I connect this to the WIFI the remote seems to stop working and after around 30 seconds the TV switches onto standby then after another 30 seconds it switches back on and the same thing keeps happening again in a loop until I pull out the Ethernet cable or switch the router off then it's fine again.

I have tried both 5ghz and 2.4ghz bands, wake on lan off / on, manual and auto IP etc and nothing seems to effect it.

I've connected many TVs to the Internet without issue so this one has me stumped so if anyone has any ideas or have come across this issue then any advice would be much appreciated.

It was just the wifi. Managed to sort it in the end by hardwiring it with an Ethernet cable and then updating the firmware so my guess is it wasn't able to do the update over wifi and this was leading the loops.

Yes that's what I was wondering, my sister had a stuck update loop on a Panasonic recently :)
