Hi all,

I am wondering if I am the only one that does this. I have a 46" Toshiba and depending on whether I am watching SD or HD I have to move the sofa. For SD I have the sofa where it should be for the room which is about 15 feet from the TV, any closer and the picture quality is poor.

Now for HD, especially Blu Ray, I like to move the sofa so it is only 5 feet from the TV to gain the full experience. If I leave the sofa where it should be then the difference between DVD and Blu Ray is not that big a deal.

Anyone else rearrange their furniture depending on what they are watching?

There is nothing wrong with my eyesight!

Maybe 5 feet was bit of an exaggeration, more like eight feet or so for HD. But the thing is at that distance it is still crystal clear and immersive. But at that distance SD would be completely unwatchable.

The screen being 46" was a budget issue. For our lounge a 52" would not look out of place, in fact most of the online 'what screen size should I get for the size of my room' things wanted bigger.

So the issue remains. If your TV is not the perfect size for your viewing distance do you move your viewing distance for the TV or just live with it?

either get yourself a cinema room or compromise.

Moving the furniture is the compromise! I would love a cinma room but budget, wife and two kids won't let me.

Oh well, thanks for all your thoughts, looks like I am mad but so, it is a small work out everytime I want to watch the fullHD experience!
