I was originally planning to buy 2x 19" widescreen HDTV/monitors. That would cost around £650 and wouldn't even fit on my desk. So then I thought 2x HDTV/monitors. But the only 19" HDTV/monitor I could find was the Samsung one listed on OcUK - but that was widescreen. So I guess that option is scrapped.
Then I thought 2x 17" LCD TFT multi-function monitors which would probably cost about £300. Perfect. Only thing is, I wanted it future-proof (i.e. HDTV) so that I could use it for next generation media.
So here I am now: wanting the new Samsung 19" R71 HDTV. It's widescreen. And it's a TV. But it can be used as a PC monitor. I'm not sure if it can handle being used as a dedicated PC monitor, but it should do - right?
What I'll be using it for primarily is Internet browsing, general wordprocessing and Excel use, Photoshop use, I game quite a lot - that's my main concern. Since it's a TV, will it be able to handle my gaming? I probably game about 2hrs a night. On top of having it on pretty much half of the day. And I initially wanted 2 monitors so that I could use my PS2 or watch TV on the other. So instead I will be using the PS2 on this as well.
TV vs. LCD TFT.. would I be able to get away with buying the TV?
