wishing i was somewhere e
Will i notice anything different if i use a 360 or a ps3 on an old tv or have i got to upgrade the tv aswell.I know i won't get the best out of the console's.But the thought of having to buy a new tv aswell puts me off. :)

When I was using an old TV for my 360 it was usable, but not a chance of heel of me being able to read small text.

When I got the VGA cable and moved to my 19" monitor I was speechless.

Edit: So hook it up to your monitor. ;)

You'll still see a big difference over the last generation of consoles.

I used my 360 on a standard TV for a year and I was never disapointed with it. If you can, use a proper RGB scart lead. They will give you the best picture possible on a standard TV and make text etc perfectly readable (except really tiny text but not many games carry small text).

You don't NEED a HDTV to play the current generation of consoles. It's just nice if you can and you won't miss out on any game content or anything like that so I would say go for it if you're considering one or both consoles.
