Tweetie for the Mac!

I say, I have just this minute installed TweetDeck. Similar idea I guess, this one runs on Adobe Air which I like very much I must admit.

Although Tweetie nav looks cleaner/sharper.

(PAC2008 on Twit btw, if you'd like to follow.) ;)

Try Nambu. Its in beta at the moment so some people are having a few crashing problems but I love it coming from tweetdeck.
I was using tweetdeck for the past 6 months and didn't like any other app but Nambu is really good!

What are your twitter names anyway? Might follow if you're interesting :p

You'd take an Air App over a native app? Crazy :p

I wonder if this is going to be better than Twitterific...

I didn't like TweetDeck, it takes up far too much screen space.

So, Tweetie has been released. I've not seen it yet but I've bought it anyway, even though I'm at work (it's lunch time) and I'm 60 miles away from my Macs!

I wouldnt of bought it so soon, the only difference is that you get some ads with the free version :)

Just downloaded it and so far am really liking it :D

Tiny URL & Twitpic (you can choose from different services) integration makes this better than Twitterific!

It's an interesting business model, I wonder if the ads will eventually cover the cost of the application. I've only seen on advert so far.

I've been beta testing this, and it's steadily improved. Glad everyone else is getting to play with it now, I like how it's so clean. Tweetdeck sometimes does TOO much.

Nice UI. I love that it has an 'open links in background' option. NetNewsWire also has that and it's really handy.

-1 point for polluting the menu bar. As far as I can see, there's no option as to whether it puts the icon up there.

Edit - Yes there is. Uncheck the three "Highlight status icon for.." checkboxes.
Edit 2 - Maybe not. I'm sure it worked the first time.

I'd rather have it in the menu bar than the dock. In fact, I'd rather not have it in either, given the option.

Then hide the dock, abandon it, and use a keyboard launcher :)

Anything in the menu bar is always in your face

so are people really going to spend 15 quid when the twitter website is perfectly fine? it would be like paying good money for an ocuk forums app...

surely you can't really do much more than the site anyway since the site is the mother ship and surely has every ability of twitter good to go?

It definitely looks nice, a lot more stable than Nambu(still in beta) but I'll be going back to Nambu once its completed.

I miss columns and Tweetie is too simple for what I want. Also seems to have a fair amount of wasted space and they could have styled things like the tweet box a bit better
