Need to replace a crappy 12yr old Isar HE30 in my flat but its a twin flue (4m run) and no one does them anymore. The alternative given by most is to move the boiler and thats coming to about £4k. The void is too small for a single flue on that run.

Anyone know of any twin flue boilers on the market or got similar experience. Option B is replace the heat exchanger in the current boiler (triggers broom)

Don't touch a Keston boiler, terrible appliances.

Why do you need twin flue? Ceiling space?
Either type of flue system needs inspection hatches for each joint. And most flue systems can run many meters with a 4" flue pipe. So no need for twin flue.

Obviously i googled but the issue is getting someone to fit and offer decent warranty

Ceiling void too small for the current 4m run and enough drop off. Given up after talking to many fitters/companies and agreed to relocate the boiler to external wall and fit a Valliant EcoTec Pro 30.

Ideal Isar he30 heat engine kit over £600 (at Wolseley) then fitting on top. Not exactly cost effective, and any money Ideal's own £300 call out aint gonna to cover the heat exchanger on an Isar....Beyond economical repair most likely.
Not sure you'll find a decent gas registered installer, that will mess about with ebay parts either...Too risky.

Yeah and other bits keep breaking so it’s easier in the long run to get the 12yr warranty as it’s in a BTL. I can get rid of the silly inspection panels for the flue too.

BG wanted £1200 to change the heat engine

cheers for the advice anyway.

Generally that means 'I don't make enough out of it'.
Think there were a few issues with dual flues leaking too which has made fitters nervous. I don’t know but maybe you are right. However if no one will fit a boiler type then I don’t have that as an option.

The valliant are stainless exchangers so should last longer. Worcester are suffering chip shortages too

Care to back that up with anything? On the face of it, that appears like a perfect solution.

Sure, 30 years of fixing people's domestic heating systems/ boilers, and listening to their experiences with said appliances. Keston having twin flue systems is nothing unique, lots of boilers over the years have had the option. This doesn't make a Keston a good boiler, it's just a flue option. Compared to other manufacturers, Keston (in my experience) have much poorer build quality, reliability, and support. Why would anyone take a chance on that, when there are much stronger products on the market?

Pretty much what my uncle said whos done boilers his whole life. The isar that’s now leaking uses the same heat exahngers as those Kestons.

no they dont

Current kestons are ideal logics with a twin flue setup and come with a 7 year warranty
