Twin Weber 40's - a good price?

Hello all,

i've spotted a matched pair of Weber 40 carbs for sale on 205 GTiDrivers.com

The guy wants £175 for them, they have 35mm chokes. he has reciepts following a refurb, and they haven't been used since. Is £175 a good price?

It sounds a fair price, not too shabby if they've been refurbed either, but you have to budget for a rolling road session to get them running right - PM me if you want the number of someone who knows what they're doing with carbs.

(For comparision I paid 80 quid for a pair of twin 40's that needed a rebuild, at a cost of 30 quid for just the parts).

Don't forget you will probably need to rejet them as well. A full set of jets will set you back about £100 because there's 4 of each jet and about 5 different jets in each carb. I can give you a list of jets you will need to get you going.
