^ sadly that's true. Why the overabundance of ironsights in fps these days? Because the affect they have of slowing down gameplay makes them particularly suited to playing with a pad. I've no problem with consoles fps - it's possible to be very accruate with practise - but you simply can't twitch aim. Remember when fps first started appearing on consoles, when games like Q3, RTCW and CS were translated to pad use (pc fps used to be ported to consoles!) - they were bloody awful because people couldn't aim precisely quick enough. Now fps are designed around joypads and pc fps as we know them going the way of the dodo.
