Guys I'm thinking of getting into twitch streaming or Youtube streaming

What sort of internet connection / PC settings do you need for this?

I'm getting the sky fibre installed next week on about 40 down and 10 up

Pc spec is in the sig below

Looking at doing the likes of WT / WoT etc

Cheers for any advice

The maximum video rate suggested for Twitch is 3500kbps, plus a ~128kbps stereo audio track, so you need a sustained upload of around 4mbps purely for uploading to Twitch. Take a look at OBS for capturing/streaming, it's quite a capable bit of software, used by many streamers, and best of all, it's completely free!

Your specs should be fine for 1080p/30, or 720p/60 streaming.

I'd suggest getting yourself a decent microphone (if you plan on talking, which does help with sustaining viewers), take a look at the BLUE range - one thing that puts me off Twitch streamers/YouTube videos immediately is poor quality audio.

Upload is most important and in terms of bandwidth you are sorted for the most part. My upload is 3mb and sometimes I have issues. You'll have no such problem providing you set your bitrates decently. As said, Open Broadcaster is a great bit of kit for streaming.

Ok well I have a headset at the minute - Seems to be ok with quailty etc, though thats what I am told by the people I game with online.

I'm hoping the NDA on World of Warships is lifted soon so I can start to do that aswell

Tried out the WoT Mod for streaming world of tanks - just dipping my toe in see what its like - seems good so far, need to tweak the stream more I think, but people have said it looks ok, though could use so more comments on it if its any good

been a Streamer my self i can tell u now the max upload twitch accepts when u are not a partner is 2566

and u wont be a partner for a long long time unless u can get 100 viewers a day for a month

u can stream 1080p at 1800-2566 no problem using OBS

if u are a partner u can upload at 3800 1080p but unless the viewer at the other side can download at a constant 3800 they cant watch or will be crappy quality

the lower the upload the more cpu to compress it

i would also geta HD webcam and decent mic :P
