So I've shamefully (though probably expectedly) signed up to Twitter for our wedding videography business.

Now maybe it's just the sector (weddings), but everyone I've followed so far is just talking absolutely crap/spam constantly. These guys are a prime example: http://twitter.com/wimagazine

So my question is, is this what we should be doing? Also, who should we follow - everyone and anyone or be selective?

I guess our aim is to increase our exposure in front of wedding magazines and other retailers, and also pop up occasionally to the odd bride-to-be.

Oh and also, is it worth using a separate app? I see a lot floating around - UberTweet, Tweetdeck, etc etc. Which one's the best?

Edit: There'll be two of us using the program/Twitter during the day if that makes a difference to functionality.

I've just setup a Twitter account for an organisation I've just launched a website for. They never really had an internet prescence, but with the boom in smart phones and people using Twitter we're using it as a way to let our 'followers' know about website updates, new products etc.

However, we're using the 'hashtags' to get into the categories that people may be searching for to grab new customers and more site traffic.

We're not sure if its 'worth doing', yet. But time will tell and I'm sure you'll find your own way of using Twitter in a way that suits you.

OK it is possible to make some serious money off twitter if you know what you're doing.

Download tweetattacks lite; you are going to be using the auto follow/unfollow and tweet scheduler.

In the scheduler write about 30 tweets. Most should be insightful and about your work/weddings/wedding photography. You can also throw in a few random bits of banter. Set the scheduler to post about 5 a day a few hours apart.

After a few days, when you will have posted some decent tweets that are worth following, go to search.twitter.com in tweetattacks. Search for terms like "wedding" "wedding video" "wedding photography", "flourist" (be creative). Use the location filter to narrow results down to UK. Use the Auto follower module to follow all the results (no more than 50 a day to begin with but you can increase this over time).

Use the unfollow module to remove users who do not follow you back after 5 d days.

You should build up a steady following of laser target leads.

Seriously you can bank some hard cash with tweetattacks, it's like a licence to print money.
