I hate being a re-link bitch, but just been made aware of this by one of my customers, and thought it worth passing on as searching for it turns up nothing.

Twixtor is a Final Cut Pro plugin [Edit: And After Effects, thanks Chuchulain/Ksanti] that allows you to take video (best in HD obviously) and slow it down to hundreds of frames per second. It "fills in the gaps" automatically (and actually quite well, with little artifacting or morphing, considering the prices we're talking), allowing you to use your 5d MKII or Nikon equivalent to film super-slomo high def video.

Here's a Vimeo example of a guy shooting with his 550D (consider we're talking entry level DSLR here):

Noticed he mentioned that in future he will use cleaner, less busy backgrounds as some morphing is visible but otherwise the results are, in fairness, exceptional. Considering the 550D films at 60fps, it really is rather good.

Go, minions. Create masterworks and report.

Still, I used Final Cut Pro years ago at College and it was leaps and bounds ahead of Adobe Premier and there's no denying the results of this software.

Edited this comment as its causing a lot of confusion.

Yeah shame its MAC only but the industry is dominated by Apple. I've even had to swallow my Linux Pride and get one of my own for work. I'll tape razorblades to the silly one button mouse to remind myself of the pain every time i use it.

You can use After Effects as well [y]

Awesome. I've got After Effects on my machine so will definitely give this a try when I get a delivery later this week ;)

EDIT: I actually just watched the video............WOW! AMAZING!

Is nobody bothering to read the thread?

Aah yes sorry I had read but I hadn't heard of After Affects and dismissed it as another mac pogram, video is something I am wanting to get into rather than knowing lots about, forgive mine ignorance!
