Two 360's broken in 2 days - FFFFUUUU

Well yesterday I was enjoying my sunday with a black ops/battlefield marathon when after tea time my elite's gpu decides to overhead and not display correctly. The colours are all strange, like its gone back to 8 bit, also a lot brighter as well. Annoyed obviously, luckily I have a spare 360 (4th one overall that I have bought...) but today it decides to give me 3 red lights in the midst of a game.

They will cost £68 each to repair from Microsoft, but also means I will miss the COD double xp weekend and knowing my luck with a 2-3 weeks turn around I'll miss battlefield vietnam.

Im really not happy. In total, I have sent consoles to microsoft 7 times, its ridiculious.

Not really much point to this thread I guess, just thought I would go to the internets and vent...

They really do need to sort out the reliability of the 360... I don't know a single person who owns one who can say it hasn't broken once....

I know people who have had broken xboxes and some that havent. It seems hit and miss. At least the new ones seem more reliable

Had one of the early 20gb models and still going strong round a mates house. Never gone wrong but got replaced with an elite anyway.

Best thing to do, get them repaired by MS then trade both in for the newer 360 model.

very unlucky, I've had my Elite since release and *touch wood* I havn't had one single problem. Prior to that I had the premium one and had no probs with that either, till I decided to trade it in for the elite

Probably tempting fate but mine has not! One of the originals too, but.... the CD drive is starting to stop closing on its own

And ive had two friends had their PS3's originals too break withing 2 weeks of each other, bough at same time I think too.

I'd buy a slim and either sell yours on ebay as RROD possible fixes, or fix them yourself

+1 for my black elite has never broken. It has overheated and red ringed on me once before, but it was rebootable.

i tried this and i have been through 2 phats and 3 slims so far maybe im just unlucky my 360 that rrod is still going strong (it does sound like a cement mixer though)

I've had two break, but the repair process with MS was easy and free, so I don't care.
