Hi Guys,

Not sure if this is the right forum or not so can a Don please move if not :)

I've got two 40" Sharp LCD's LC 40LE700E both are connected to a Dell Optiplex 780 with a Dell ATI Dual Displayport graphics card using Displayport to HDMI Adapters.

I have the screens setup to extend the display across both monitors but everytime I turn the screens off and back on again (PC always running) it reverts to duplicating the display on both monitors instead of extending.

Operating system is Windows 7 Pro 32bit

Anyideads how I can keep it extending the display instead of duplicating it once the screens turn off and back on again, just seems really odd!!

Any help appreciated

Cheers
Zaf,

Somewhere in the display options (with it being dell, there will be another display options, relating only to dell computers) there should be an option to pick whether you want it to duplicate, extend or just use one.

Atleast thats going by a mates dell computer anyway.

Cheers for the help mate but there is nothing like that in Windows 7 just using the basic Screen Resoultion settings.

Have you downloaded the ati drivers (catalyst)? They should be compatible with the gfx card and it's in the catalyst control centre that you can make changes to the multiple screen settings.

Hope this helps

Yup tried that and it's still not working.

I set it to Extend Displays everything looks good I put multiple spreadsheets etc across both screens and as soon as I turn the screens off and on again not changing any setting on the PC it all reverts to Duplicating display

I'm going crazy...

If I use the Standby button on the screens everything remains ok but if I use the remote control or rocker off switch it all gets messed up
