This thread may be a few days late but nevertheless a massive congrats and thank you to all the Milkyway crunchers on the team past and present. Its a great acheivement for a small team imo. May the next billion come even quicker

What GPU is currently king for Milkyway?

I blew up 4 HD5970's on this project along with 3 HD4850X2's when the last one died I stopped.

Now I have a new job I might get another

Otherwise I've got a 5970 and 5870 running but only from 7pm to 8am.

I don't think it would fit mate, but thanks for the offer, I've got mine in old HP DC5800 microtower. Had to hack a bigger PSU in there for the 5970!

I think the best bang for buck card for this is the 7870 XT or LE its got the 7900 core but is under £200, often well under.
