ok... so i've picked up two claims (1 fault accident, and one theft-of-vehicle)in the last year, one of which was a total loss, the upshot of which is, i need a new policy

has anyone out there with an ugly claims history like mine found a company that'll be kind to me and at least lube up before bending me over?

I don't have a clean sheet, but went with Bell Insurance after checking lots of companies.

Unfortuantely every company has different criteria... you'd be better off using the bulk search engines like InsureSupermarket or Confused.com and then doing manual quotes on the top 10 companies from there.

Try following the guide on MoneySavingExpert.com. It worked pretty well for me.

I got my best quote from Churchill.
4 points on a CD10, one fault accident and one non-fault accident. It still costs me a bloody fortune but Churchill were the cheapest by far.

The Admiral/Elephant group have been the best for me.

I'm up for renewal soon. Tesco wanted £2200  whereas Admiral wanted only £1100, all mods declared and with 0 NCB.

My quotes have been around £750-850 at best after my smash last year. Admiral are giving me £660 and no one else is close at the moment.

A quick question, sorry for OTness, but how late before renewal do Elephant send out notices?

I'm sure CIS sent theirs out a month in advance.

Elephant were something like a week, they are based in cardiff. Their claims handler, insurance assesor all knew my claim details perfectly because they drove through the crash site every day on the way to work

have you tried e-sure yet? they gave me the best quote this year (around £50 cheaper than churchill) and that with 1 claim in the past year.
