my flat mate has a NTL line going in the house but i would like my own line as she is alwasy clogging the line up with d/l's but i would like to go with BE as they seem to be pretty damn good from what have heard, only problem being i need a BT phoneline for that. now i was wondering was; can i get a BT line in as well as having the NTL line going in?

cheers

Yes, they're separate companies using two totally different methods of getting into your house - neither company cares about the other's kit.

It does seem that the cable companies will only supply one line per house, but there is nothing to prevent getting a BT line or several BT lines into one home as long as BT have the spare pairs.

Well the house most likely has a BT line already installed, just not activated. The NTL line will have been installed when the cable was installed. All you should need to do is find the BT socket and then phone BT and get them to reconnect you.
