Hi

My current set up is an i5 2500k OCd to 4.5ghz, a single gtx 670, 8gb ram and an OCZ 700w PSU, iv got things like a ssd etc aswell.

would i need to upgrade other things in order to have two gtx 670s?

Your motherboard is SLI compatible.

It looks like powering 2 GTX 670s from your PSU would get a bit messy as it only has 2 PCI-E power connectors (OCZ ModXSTream Pro 700w).

Do i need to buy two of the same card, i have the Asus GTX 670 Direct CU II 2gb, would i be able to get the Palit Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 Graphics Card?

also if i buy a corsair PSU will it have enough cables because i checked my PSU and theres no more slots in it for cables

You can mix and match like for like (so long as it is a 2GB 670 with a 2GB 670 from another manafacturer).

I agree with the other posters that your PSU is fine but very close to the total usage and as it only has 2*PCI-E connectors, an upgrade is the way to go.

YOUR BASKET
1 x XFX Pro 850W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £94.99
Total : £105.49 (includes shipping : £8.75).

I have this in the 1050W variant and it is a great PSU (seasonic built). I would get something like this when they are back in stock.

sorry to hijack this thread a little but i am about to ask a similar question. i am thinking about getting 2x Gigabyte 670's i currently have an ageing GTX 295.

i have a GA-X58A-UD7 Motherboard and a Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 850W ATX PSU
will i be ok for power with two of these and an 850 PSU. will my motherboard support SLI think it will but want to check.

P

Your system will run SLI 670 GTX's ok.

Your PSU will not be stressed :p

No offense but the whole "you need a super powerful PSU" thing is starting to get on my nerves lol. Newer tech will generally (not always) draw less power due to the smaller die size etc. It's like saying I'm going from 1 GTX260 to 1 GTX670 so therefore I'll need a new PSU. No I won't, if anything I can downsize.

670sli 650w psu adequate, 750w adequate, 850w+ unnecessary

670 peak gaming draw ~170w x2 = 340w for gpus
670 max power draw (furmark) ~242w x 2 = 484w for gpus
