I have a rear fan and and front fan on my case but only one fan power socket on my m/b, apart from the CPU fan. Is there such a thing as an adapter to allow two plugs to use the one socket?

Recieved it today and works a treat although, and this is always what concerns me when fiddling around inside my PC, the fan socket has four pins but the socket only had three, one was blank. A little concerned but I seemed to have go away with it!

Almost every case will have fan mounts front and rear, but they aren't all necessarily populated when bought either separately or as a prebuilt pc.

Either drop us the make/model of case, or post a picture and we can check everything is set up correctly

Thanks. I looked it up, it's a GA-F2A88XM-DS2 and should have two front fans. The CPU has been reaching 73c, that's only 7c away from its Tj MAX. a litt;e concerning. I've read it's possible to increase the fans' speed, but is that safe?

What CPU do you have that has a Tj max of 80c?:)

Sounds like it needs some fresh thermal compound, if it's not been redone in all that time it's probably all dried out and not transfering heat sufficiently anymore.

What CPU cooler is in there and when was it installed?

I did have a idea that replacing the paste may be a thing. How long does it keep in it's original container, would it still be good?

I honestly can't remember the name of the fan, it was a big old monster though, well the largest Ive used up till now. :)

I'd be more inclined to just get a fresh tube, you can get something decent enough for a few quid, the issue is finding somewhere that won't sting you for delivery, a local PC place might be more convient.

LOL Yeah, have noticed that practise increasing in popularity. Have been stung a few times by that trick. ;)
