OK, I thought I'd throw these ones out to the experts on here since I haven't found a solution myself. Both refer to the Windows version of iTunes.

Question 1: Is there any way to get iTunes to monitor a folder and automatically add files from the directory to its database? I've got two PCs and I'd love to have the same music collection on both without having to keep one PC on all of the time and without having to use a NAS.

Question 2: Is there any way to embed album art into each file automatically? I know this used to be the default behaviour but it now uses a database of album art linked to the files via iTunes. It would be great if the album art that iTunes finds automatically could be embedded in the files with no hassle.

Cheers.

It usually searches for applicable album art as soon as you import files along with analyzing gapless playback etc

Yup, but it doesn't embed the art. It stores it in a separate database. Thus, the album art works in iTunes/iPods but doesn't show up on other devices.

I guess neither are possible. :(
