Two monitors with different resolutions ?

Hi,

I was using two Samsung 24" monitors which are 1920x1080 but I have just upgraded one to a Benq270C which is 2560x1440. I only have a basic graphics card AMD Radeon R9 200 with one HDMI output and one DVi output. I have the left monitor (Samsung) connected via the DVi to an HDMi lead and the right (BenQ) connected via HDMi to HDMi, like this it is giving me the correct resolutions on both screens but I can't seem to get my desktop background across both screen like I had with the two Samsung's, is this because they are different resolutions ?

Also if I connect the BenQ via DVi to HDMi I can only get 1920x1080 on the BenQ is this because of the DVi connection ?

DVI should be able to manage 2560x1440, but the issue might be you're using your "worst" connector (DVI) on your "better" monitor

The Samsung is connected via DVI to HDMI and the BenQ is connected via HDMI to HDMI.
