Hi guys, I'm looking to get a NAS device. I'm looking at a D-Link model that has 2 bays. I'm thinking that maybe I might need some more storage, so would it be possible to use two of the same model on the same network?

The model I'm looking at is D-Link DNS-320

Thanks:cool:

get an hp microserver with 4 bays? it would cost a little more than two of those units, but not much more. You could put freenas on it which would give you a huge amount of functionality.

But otherwise there's no problem with having two on the network, just give them different IPs and possibly different DNS names, it just might be awkward for you having your files in two separate places

Hi, thanks for the response!

Well the Dlinks can be had for £55 and I cant find anything with 5 bays for around the £100 mark. I think there is a netgear one going for around £160 so that's tempting.

I have one of these with 2 x 2tb drives Raid 1 and it is a very handy little device. Does all the basics really well and I plan on using it with my new MK802 to stream media etc.

The HP microserver will have more functionality and bays IF you need it.
