Hi all,

I need,

good,reliable,cheap! Aftermarket cooler for amd x4 750k -

gpu upgrade from radeon 4850.

Needs to be physically the same size or smaller than this card.

GPU needs to have a noticeable difference in performance whilst drawing the same or less power from my systems PSU than the radeon 4850.

Hope this is possible - obviously not looking for high end components. Budget £150 absolute max. LESS if possible!

Couple of questions, does that GPU suggested draw less power than the 4850? Also, is it physically smaller or equivalent in size?

Dimensions will be similar it all depends on the manufacturer

As for power draw in idle the r9 270 will draw less than the 4850 but slightly more under load. Which PSU do you have?
 
I have the cooler master GX450w bronze. Has been good to me so far and I would like to keep it. Do you think that card would be ok with this?

Is there be a slightly less powerful GPU that draws a bit less power?
 
I see on the overclockers site than it needs 1 x 6 pin connector, but on the manufacturers site it says I need 2. My psu only has 1 6 pin connector.

Is there a slightly cheaper equivalent with 1 6 pin that will still give me a performance boost?

There should be a molex to PCI-E power adaptor in the box, which will sort that out.
 
Looking at a review showed the MSI R9 270 only having a single PCI-E cable fitted.

However yes it will work, you just fit the cable from the PSU to the GPU, and if need be also fit the molex to PCI-E cable also if.
