If you have two or more iPads, syncing to the same iTunes account, and you want to be able to facetime between them do you need the device names to be different (e.g. iPad1, iPad2) or doesn't that matter?

Also, by having more than one of the same device (named differently) will it be easy to manage their content so that the apps, music, video etc is the same across all of them...or do the device names need to be the same?

Hope that makes sense!

Well you call a contact either via phone number or email in FaceTime. So it depends what the contact has set as their FaceTime ID. You don't call the device as such so your scenario shouldn't matter.

Each area of IOS5 (Messages, FaceTime, App Store) can use a different Apple ID. So just create a new one for each iPad, ensure the App store is the same (to share apps) and then use the new ones for the other areas. Happy days. :)
