Two-piece zip compatability?

I've got an HG textile jacket that does it's job all year round for commuting. However, I'm looking to get a decent set of leather bottoms to replace my worn out textiles.

Ideally, I'd like to get some that can zip into the jacket, but will this limit me to HG-only trousers, or are things more compatible than that? Any general guidelines for whether different manufacturers clothings can zip together?

usually they zip up fine regardless of brand,ive mixed matched weise jackets/trousers with alpinestars jacket/trousers ect they tend to be elasticated where the zip is sewn onto so they give and take a lot to bridge the gap
