Two QQs

I wish my car would take 69 litres of fuel... Mine only gets 25 litres in when it asks for more fuel...

(I dislike visiting petrol stations).

I think it's more a fact that 32C + sun beating down on car = hard to keep the cabin *that* cold. Depends how cold you want it really though I guess!

nonsense.

We get 35+ during the day 90% of the time since mid june to mid august back home and on level 4 you can't sit in the car after 5 mins, it gets that cold.
usually level 1 is more than ok to keep it comfy on a long run, maybe level 2 if it's close to 40.

VW Passat Estate

take it back to your main dealer, you could have a fault with the air conditioning high pressure switch (when they go, they will leak.) If it is that then the part which is used to replace it, is uprated and a different manufacture. Quite common the golfs and i'm sure the passat will use near enough the same system.

But if you think its not getting cold enough then you should just take it back to the main dealer and get it done under warranty. The gas that is used can be lost at a rate of 40grams per year and this is a normal tolerance. But if you have only had yours a year you shouldnt really notice it. My bet is on the high pressure switch being faulty and leaking.

You may have a small leak some were through a pipe fracture or condenser.

Had my Vectra condenser replaced last month due to a hole and checking a friends car (Astra) he had a condenser leak.

41.5C yesterday when I started up my car. Think I lost about 1kg of body weight in water over the course of a 5 min trip.

Interesting, according to the Met Office the hightest temperature this side of Exeter recorded today was Exeter itself at 24c.

Yup was definitely around that yesterday in Exeter :(

Worst bit was the car I'd been given whilst mine was in the garage (a lovely 51 plate Espace bus thing) had air con that was just not cold.

Then when I got to the garage and making conversation with the chap saying how hot it was he said yeah but at least you were in a car with air con....
