Two Reservoirs...

I have been using a dual floppy drive reservoir since I put my WC loop together, but since I put the loop together, I decided to mount the rad on the top of my case, meaning the res was no longer at the highest point. This meant that filling it was a right pain in the arse...

I have managed to get hold of a Swiftech MCRES that I can mount high up in the side of my case to allow for easy filling/bleeding, however, I don't really want to part with my floppy bay res as I think it looks kinda cool having it showing on the front...

My questions are... Are there any consequences to having two reservoirs at the same time? Will it kill my flow or increase temps much? Its no big deal if I have to ditch the floppy bay res, but I have sort of grown attached to it!

It will hurt flow for sure. If you are intent on having it then it should be directly after the mcres is loop order - then on to the pump.

Yeah, stick with one.

Make sure outlet from rad and inlet to res are on the same side (eg mobo side of case = right side)
[Assuming you have -blocks-rad-res-pump-]

Lay it down on left, window side then air will come out of rad and into res and collect there. You might have to juggle the case a bit - lay down on side, then upright as normal.

Once it's done though, it's done.

Hell, I used to have rad in roof and a res ghetto mounted to inlet of an L30 (back in the day) with the pump/res sat at the very bottom of the case. I used to just lay case on its side for a bit then upright, then other side. I could even run it with the res top off in the normal upright position and top up. Just because the res is not at the top, the water wont all come flooding out.

As long as you can catch the air there (in upright and on side positions) then it doesn't really matter where it is - apart from in relation to the pump - must before the pump in the order of components and ideally higher than the pump.

An extra res wont really help - you will still need to jiggle it all about to get the air out of rad in a roof mount position as barbs point down.

You imply it was a pain, well its done now, stick with it.

Didn't think it would be a good idea to have two.. Nevermind..

I'll swap it out for the MCRES anyway when I fit my Fuzion, should be a bit easier to fill at least! :)
