I have currently had installed BT infinity 2 which they have kindly given me a homehub with bult in modem. I also have a NETGEAR N7000
The homehub has **** wireless fro streaming my NVIDIA Shield tablet around the house but the NETGEAR wont set up just from the telephone wire from the wall box. I can connect it via CAT 5 to the homehb and it works but the wireless again seems a lot slower than what it shoud be doing and it won't allow things liek PLEx to stream through it. I would ideally like to just be using the NETGEAR and doing away withthe home****e altoghter, I'm no PC novice but networking is just something that is boggling my head right now due to a number of reasons I would rather not go in to.
I have tried to research what to do but what ever I try I hit a brick wall.
Anyone any ideas without me buying a stand alone modem

Thanks in advance.

1) Buy a Huawei or ECI VDSL2 modem from an eBay seller
2) Buy a router with a built-in VDSL2 modem

You can turn off dhcp and everything like that on the netgear, turn wireless off on the homehub and just use the homehub for routing and just the netgear for wireless if thats what you wanted?
