im trying to get my nat status on my 360 to be set to open..but i dont quite know how to do it with two routers attached..i know how to do dmz trick but only works when i connect the 360 directly to the main router..what settings do i have to change on the 2nd router in order for it to work??..help appreciated..thanks

A bit more information is required, who's your internet provider and whats the make and model of both routers.

sky broadband..netgear router is my main one and the other is an x-micro...so i can use the internet in my room without running a long wire

You'll have to expand on that. You have two internet connections? Or both routers are connected to the phone line, so only one works at once? Or both routers are connected by a wire, and there's actually no reason to have another router?

ok...the netgear one is connected to the bt phone line downstairs...x-micro is connected to the netgear by a long ethernet cable into my room up which has my pc and 360

So instead of connecting the long cable to the WAN port on the X-Micro, connect it to one of the switch ports and disable DHCP. That way you get an IP from the Netgear and only have to forward ports through it too.

i tried it...disable dhcp on the netgear one yes??..well anyways now i cant connect to xbox live using this way..internet works fine tho

No, disable DHCP on the X-micro. A second router isn't necessary - it complicated the issue. All you really need is a wireless access point, so to this end you just need to disable DHCP on the X-micro and don't connect anything to its WAN port so it's not used at all. Give the X-micro an IP in the same range of the Netgear one for ease of configuration.
