Two Seater...

I'd have a 997 C4S Cabriolet (in black thanks), doable for £40k on an '55/'06 or so.

Are these the ones with the extra bracing that were bigged up in last weeks top gear?

I had a quick browse and unfortunately most are specified with that terrible tip tronic box, what were the original owners thinking? All show and no go...

Not sure about top gear, but the tip box is very good at what it is designed to do, and is what i would pick. Luckily most owners share my opinion therefore tip versions are the most common.

But then you yourself have admitted you are a cruiser and not a driver, which is fine, it just doesn't bode well for those of us who actually want to drive the cars :p

Then why would you want a compromised cabrio in the first place? There is no shortage of manual coupe's :)

I HATE tiptronic. It's ponderous and mutes the whole 911 experience when pushing on. Each to their own of course but it is something I'd detest on a 911......as I would a soft top....or 4WD! :D

Because the 997 soft top isn't bad as far as compromise if the other nights top gear is to be believed and top down motoring is the finest kind.
