Two sets of powerline adapters

Hi there,

I am wondering if it's worth purchasing another set of powerline adapters. We have two internet connections in the house - one business and one personal. The business one currently runs via powerline adapters to another area of the house. On that same electrical circuit I would like to run another set of powerline adapters, this time carrying our personal internet.

In short, will this work? I don't know if they can run on different frequencies or if it would be a nightmare with interference.

Cheers for any replies

Sounds like they'd hook up with eachother, pretty sure though that's what the pairs button is for to make another set run on their own.

If you're careful to set the two pairs up to use different encryption keys they'll operate separately. They will however be sharing the same bandwidth.

Installing network cables (preferably for both connections) would be a much better option.

Ah okay. I must admit I know little about networks, it confuses me quite a bit. I'll order another pair and see if that works. They're much cheaper than before, £25 for a set! Sure I paid nearly £100 for some in the past.

Bandwidth isn't really an issue as we only get 5mbps from the wall on each connection. Installing network cables is a bit too costly unfortunately. When they arrive if I'm having trouble I'll no doubt be back asking how to set up different encryption keys. They'll be from different manufacturers and vastly different ages so maybe it won't be a worry.

Cheers for the replies to this guys. Picked them up today from that well-known catalogue retailer and they're working a treat. Simply had to pair them and from the off there's been no confusion between the two sets/internet connections. Happily getting a steady 700kbps now vs. a fluctuating ~400kbps connection. I know it's still rubbish but it is a huge step up.

Fibre will blow my mind.
