Which of these software features would you like to have available for your AMD Graphics Card?

A)Downsampling
B)Game Recording
C)Both Are Essential

Downsampling is where the gpu renders the image at a higher quality than your monitor can display it at, then it scales down that image to display on your monitor. The image quality benefits from this are massive. It's something that Nvidia users have been enjoying for a while and I'm sure it's something that could and should be implemented for AMD users. It's a nice feature that makes your games look graphically more pleasing, who would not want that?

Game recording is something that could be integrated through the AMD Gaming Evolved APP, just like Nvidia does with the Geforce Experience. Although it's possible to record AMD gaming footage through other software, it would be nice to have something similar to ShadowPlay with the decreased performance hit. This is an excellent feature and should come with the gaming evolved app. I don't believe it can be that hard to do. It should be possible with using the same H264 codec and using the AMD APP and then we should have the same small performance hit when we record out game footage.

These are two Nvidia only features that i would love to see on AMD cards. I'm sure the majority of AMD users will feel the same, right? Let's find out. Once we have a decent amount of votes i will put direct this thread to some AMD guys and see if this can one day become a reality. These are important features for a gamer in my opinion.

Thoughts?

I will ask the Dons to turn this into a poll, so get ready to vote. :)

AMD needs GPU accelerated streaming to Android (Thanks to limelight, modern Android device works with Nvidia's GPU's that work with their Shield, so if I had a 780Ti I could run say Watch_Dogs on my Xperia Z1 phone, or hell, if I had an Android tablet, say a Nexus 7, you've got 1080p Watch_Dogs on your flipping 200 quid Tablet.)

I'd love if AMD worked with Microsoft to offer it to Windows RT or something (Although, if were to do this, it'd be Nvidia)

It's the only thing that's making me consider jumping to Nvidia at the moment.

Downsample is a definite yes from me, that said I'll soon be 3440x1440, so it won't be of use to myself, although in the meantime I'd love to downsample 34440x1440 to my 2560x1080.

Not that I'm likely to own an AMD GPU any time soon but its something I see increasingly while playing games online is some variant of this conversation:

Person X: Hey whats the best way to capture/stream my gaming?
Person Y: Shadowplay
Person X: Is it free?
Person Y: Only works on nVidia though
Person X: Oh I'm using an <insert AMD GPU>
Person Z: Try MSI Afterburner?
Person Y: There is always fraps or dxtory

(Which sometimes ends at shadowplay if they have an nVidia GPU - but definitely increasing interest in capturing and streaming)

Goddamnit Will Gill!

"You cannot add a poll to this thread as it already has a poll attached"

You are too fast

Cant say i care for either. Downsampling would be nice to play with (and have done in the past via 3rd party tools) but you need some serious hardware to make it viable for most games.

I'd MUCH rather see the radeon pro features being properly integrated in the drivers, for example, or built in support for sweetfx-like tweaking.

What I'd like to see doesn't exist on the list :(

I'd like an AMD flagship gpu actually BEAT a nVidia flagship gpu!! Would certainly bring back some memories :p

Oh well, I guess having the fastest card will have to do ;)

Downsampling for me tbh, seems like a nice feature to have

They is loads methods out there on Google to allow game streaming over wifi to a Android device.
Steam as also just released its streaming service.

The game recording is probably the most important in my opinion, as I have two of my sons friends that are constantly asking me about it on their AMD cards and all because my son uses shadowplay all the time.
Unfortunately the way AMD seem to operate, they are more likely to leave it to a third party rather than do it themselves and incorporate it into their own software package.

Downsampling as I'll be keeping this monitor a while.

Gamecapture not really interested, I have no need for it but it's gaining popularity fast, killer feature that'll be more popular to the masses than downsampling, it's probably a matter of time before my lad starts wanting to dabble in it, so that could sway a future purchase for myself.

Having had a play on shadowplay it is a plus point for Nvidia tbh, next to no configuring really, it just works as advertised-very well I may add too.

I take it you've never actually done any serious game streaming? Kainy's so-so, as is Splashtop HD, none of them compete with what you're able to do with Nvidia's GPU's, or in fact Steam Streaming.

And I've been using the steam streaming (To my Ultrabook) for months now, at the moment it's to overcome games that only work 16:9.

I tried some game streaming via the Gaming Evolved/Raptr APP. Couldn't get it working, or the in game overlay.

Both of which i do not care about. I would prefer the money be spent via decreased hardware costs and/or more optimisation work carried out close with game developers.

As for features. **** features.
