sorry to sound noobish, i am going to be buying a sandy bridge i7 and was wondering for OC'ing is it better to have two or four sticks. high ram would be nice as i will be running progams like dreamwaever cs5, photoshop cs5 at the same time.

many thanks

Two sticks will be better as it will strain the memory controller less compared to four sticks. You can get 2x4gb sets and 8gb should be enough :).

It only has a bearing on if you plan to overclock the RAM, the amount of sticks will not effect the CPU overclocking as Sandybridge overclocking is purely multiplier based not upping the bclk.
