Two technical issues!!!

1. Brand new Dell laptop with XP installed and usb ports not working properly. Flash drives, a printer and a usb mouse have all been tested. none of the cd's given have anything to fix the issue. anyone had this before?

2. Another laptop belonging to a friend with Vista does not want to display web pages. It will connect to a wireless network/internet(as windows update works fine) but anything else doesnt. tried firefoxand the same page cannot be displayed error appears.

1. Reinstall the USB drivers? I guess they would be easy to obtain from the dell website

1 = USB or chipset drivers

2 = check the router itself has a connection to the internet. Should be a diagnostics page on it to test this.

The router is fine have tried it on another one same problem.

Will reinstall the usb drivers and update.

check there's nothing in the proxy settings in Control Panel > Internet Options.

He's already tried Firefox, and Firefox isn't set via those options so I doubt its that.

well have tried to reinstall usb drivers there are none but i did find and replace the chipset drivers even although they should be the same as its a brand new laptop
