I have an AIO into one and it boots and then I connect a Corsair hub with 3 fans to the other usb header and it then won’t POST. Too much power draw ?

Do I need to use a usb header extender?

HI, yes the machine is fine with just the AIO plugged in. Yes the hub is SATA powered and yes the lights do light up.

I have not tested the fans on their own as I have 3 Antec fans plugged into the ARGB_port via its own hub (ARGB fans)

Wondering if anyone can help. I have a three USB 2.0 headers on this motherboard but I dont really understand what you can use them for.

I have an AIO pump that needs one and I was going to the one of the other ones for more standard RGB fans. I connected then up to the next USB 2.0 header via a corsair controller and the light came on the fans and they also span up ok but the machine would not boot. The motherboard light would not move from amber. I had to clear the CMOS as the RAM was set to its EXPO setting and now it wont work on its EXPO setting at all.

I have taken out the corsair hub from the USB 2.o header leaving the AIO plugged in and the machine works. the manual here says about USB 2.0 headers but I dont really know what it is telling me.

page1-2

I can only presume that plugging in the Corsair hub into the other USB 2.0 header caused some kind of power issue?

Headset, mouse and keyboard.

I am referring to the USB 2.0 headers which appears to have 3 channels. From what you are saying though usb of whatever kind use the same channels ?

Cheers for replying as the manual just said about using an external USB powered hub

I have not tried that but the manual list 3 USB 2.0 ports and I was thinking well why provide them if you cant use them but as soon as I plugged int 3 more fans via a Corsair hub (powered by a SATA connector) and using a USB 2.0 connector the RAM set to EXPO then meant the machine would not boot.

The system now restarts after I cleared the BIOS. Now I am just using the machine with the RAM at 4800 (standard setting) as EXPO now wont work at all and I have unplugged the corsair hub completely and just left the AIO plugged in.

Painful experience really.
