Two VP930s in pivot mode?

Is anyone using two VP930s together?

I have one already and am thinking of adding another. I use it in portrait mode a lot. I'd like to know if the pivot software will work correctly when both screens are rotated 90 degrees into portrait mode, with the Windows desktop extended across the two screens. (I've found the supplied pivot software has several glitches.) Has anyone tried this?

Also do the rather large feet on the stands get in each others' way if two VP930s are close up side by side?

Two screens in pivot mode should be no problem for windows ... You can always use ultramon if you want more control.

No idea about the screens/feet themselves.

I only own 1 VP930, but the base is extremely large, basically it is as wide as the screen in landscape, looking at it, I would believe it unlikely you'd be able to get two VP930's in portrait to sit next to each other flush.

Ultramon doesn't do rotation, according to the forums on their website.

did you manage to get this working? I was toying with the idea of two normal monitors both pivoted instead of a large widescreen. the resulting resolution would be 2048 x 1280 which is a widecreen ratio (ie 16*10). and should be cheaper than one large one.

Two screens in portrait is easy enough to do (in nVidia drivers anyway, unsure about ATi), you can even set hotkeys in nView to pivot the screen with the cursor on. I use Ultramon and pivoted screens, but I use the drivers for the pivoting.

The pain is movies will be split (if across both screens) or smaller than they need to be (if on a single screen), and you'll need to rotate back if you want to game.

Nope. I asked Viewsonic Europe if it would work and got the reply that it was none of their business as the pivot software (which they supply) is not of their making. And they had the cheek to add, in full patronising mode, that they hoped they had answered my question satisfactorily. So they heard from me to the effect that they had just lost themselves a customer.

So the monitors may be good but the customer service is the usual pile of feculent effluent.
