As title says, I have two public networks by me (BT FON). The windows wifi program will only see the one with the strongest signal. I know there is another one nearby as I can see it on the Ralink wifi program.

The one that is nearest to me sometimes has issues with it, won't connect, or connects and limited connectivity (even though 5 bars) so I want to try the weaker one. Clicking it in the Ralink program makes it connect to the nearer one.

I'm at a loss how to connect to a different network with same name and channel but different mac address :p. I know how to do it in Linux but not windows. Tried googling, but hasn't been helpful so far.

Thanks!

Well I am using the Ralink software for the card. It shows the different networks with the same name and channel but if I click connect on one, it always goes back to the one with the strongest signal (as seen by windows).

I thought it could be windows messing it up, so disabled the wifi service but that stopped the ralink program working. I remember in xp you could disable the windows zero config and let a third party app control it only but not so sure for win 7. I googled and it said to disable the service but I explained what happened.
