Two Xbox One wireless adapters on one PC?

Perhaps a slightly odd question that I can't find anything online about - if I connect two Xbox One wireless controller adapters to one PC, would I then be able to sync different Xbox One controllers to each?

I have my PC connected to three different rooms in my house via HDMI and USB extensions through the walls, and my Xbox One wireless adapter can't maintain a signal between the rooms very well. If it's plugged directly into the PC upstairs, it can connect downstairs but isn't reliable and regularly disconnects during gameplay, and vice versa if plugged in downstairs (disconnects upstairs.) If two adapters could be connected, one upstairs and one downstairs, and work independently (I've successfully done this with my old Xbox 360 wireless adapter at the same time as the Xbox One adapter but those are different pieces of hardware) that would solve my problem, but I don't really want to buy another one without some idea if it will work first.

Thanks for any advice!

Thanks for the replies. I have separate controllers in each room already so I shouldn't need to keep re-syncing, and I prefer wireless hence looking at getting the second adapter instead of just plugging in with USB (or indeed being less lazy and moving the adapter itself between rooms!)

I think I'll probably just try it out - if it doesn't work I'll only have spent £17 and I'd end up with a spare adapter (or could give away/sell it.)

Would a steam link not work better?

Actually you'd have latency issues, scratch that

The HDMIs have been connected for years, no issues on that front and Steam Link would be a downgrade - just the controller signal could be better between floors. Will wait for next week's big online discounts day just in case the adapter ends up in a flash sale, then grab a second one to try. I'll report back with results in case it helps anyone else in the future.

If you'd have to manually sync up the pad each time anyway with two adapters, why not just move your adapter depending on where you're gaming from?

As per my earlier post, I have multiple controllers so I wouldn't need to keep re-syncing :) there is definitely a laziness (convenience) aspect to this whole idea, but I also don't like the thought of constantly unplugging and re-plugging the USB device - probably not the best for durability of the physical connections.

When I used to do this I had the adapter on a 10m USB extension to get it halfway down the stairs lol

Not the tidiest solution! Also, an extension cable is barely cheaper than the wireless adapter. Thanks for the suggestion though :)
