Anyone else have problems connecting two Xboxs to live and found a fix? I'm constantly having issues connecting to live. It will usually sign me in fine when I boot up only to kick me out, then every time I try to reconnect it will time out. Or sometimes it will appear that I'm connected but my friend's list is empty and matchmaking doesn't work. The only thing that fixes it temporarily is power cycling my router. I have tried port forwarding, putting one Xbox in the DMZ and turning on UPnP but nothing fixes it for long.

Have you set one of the Xboxes to use a different port in the Xbox network settings menu? In there somewhere, there is an option to use a port other than the default 3074, I think it gives a few random options each time. I just set one of mine to one of the ports it suggested and set up a port forward and since then I've got no issues with two Xbox Ones on the network at the same time.

Edit: If you haven't tried already: Network Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Alternate Port Selection and set it to manual. Just choose one of the ports it suggests (gives an option of 5 other than the default 3074 on mine) and set up a forward for that port.

If you do that without manual port forwarding and just let UPnP work it out, does that still cause issues?

Yes it does.

I had a Virgin SH2 with two xboxes and it was a nightmare getting an open NAT on both. I ended up buying an RT AC68-U and it sorted out all my problems with just default settings, both open NAT no problems.

But the default settings of your Asus router won't have had any manual port forwarding set up right? So by default it was just using UPnP?

We have no issues with our X and S being on the same network whilst being used at the same time. We have the latest BT smart/home hub.

I meant default settings of my consoles.

I messed about so much with my SH2 to try and resolve the issue (port forwarding rules etc) and only one console would ever get an Open NAT.

With the Asus I had to do zero configuration, I just switched to modem mode, plugged everything and turned it on, connected the other console via wi-fi and bingo.

I have 3 Xbox’s on the same router with no issues... Using the Superhub 3 that virgin supplied. One is wired through a switch other two are wireless...
