I can never rip you as you flagged me down on the Hampshire meet on the corner before the long downhill with camera van.

THAT WAS ME!

I'm not sure XL always means stiffer walls, it can sometime increase the air pressure rating and hence the tyres is capable of more corner weight when you run the higher pressure.

Like anything with tyres it's the volume, are they OEM fit on anything?

Nath, sorry to see that. Not nice at all. I know what it feels like, some **** put a brick through the rear window on my DC5 on Christmas Eve a few years ago.

No no, I mean Bridgestone, have a look at this link and hopefully makes sense to you, there's like 10 versions of one tyre for the same fitment, just different load indexes.
http://www.tyretraders.com/tyresearchresults.aspx?width=225&ratio=40&rim=18&man=Bridgestone&flat=False&filter=Price&ftype=Ascending&pricing=1&cat=All&speed=All&Loading=All&tyreType=All

The XL and higher number ones >88 seem cheaper but not sure why? As an example Re050A 92Y - £93, The S001 exact same as OEM (225/40/R18, 88 Y) £111.

What are your guys experiences with the Honda dealership network? I presume most of you use specialists/independents for servicing, just wondered how far any of you had dealt with the main dealers though...sometimes it seems more convenient.

Today I went to take my FN2 back again for another minor fix, this time I took it to Brindley Honda in Wolverhampton rather than Brindley West Bromwich (who supplied me with the car), purely out of convenience given where I live and my work arrangements for today.

I am actually somewhat disappointed at the little things that were not picked up by the PDI having got this car, thus far the car (sold with 'full PDI' and a fresh MOT, and I was assured this would be comprehensive) has had a problem with the folding door mirrors, a damaged and loose trim on the door handle, and yesterday I discovered the passenger side seat tilt mechanism does not work.

You'd think taking an Approved Used Honda with full (extended to end of March 2014) Honda warranty, with full main dealer service history, to a garage belonging to the same franchise which supplied the car less than 2 weeks and 200 miles prior, might be able to get an issue as simple as a broken seat tilt cable resolved without hassle. The part required to fix it costs £20 at trade price. Up until yesterday I did not have reason to tilt the seat as I never had more than 1 passenger in the car with me.

Unfortunately I had to deal with some idiot who quibbled over the cars history, claiming Honda UK rejected the warranty claim due to incomplete service history, and that I would have to pay to get it fixed, or take it to West Bromwich, despite his own franchise who sold me the car having advertised it as having full Honda service history . He claimed his computer systems did now show full history.

I will be interested to see what they say when I send someone back there tomorrow with the fully stamped up service book, and a print out that I have obtained from the Honda main dealers computer system (through someone I know who happens to work for the same franchise and has access to the Honda computer system), which has a record of every specified service being done on time from a Honda main agent.

If it's wasn't for the fact I found a service plan from the previous owner then I'd be having it done by a specialist I have about an hour away from me. Dealers attitudes towards things like this **** me off but not all are bad.

Bugger, hit something on a tiny back road last night which instantly punctured the front tyre. Unfortunately there were several cars following me, so with nowhere to stop I had to gently press on until the lane widened enough for them to pass. Needless to say, the tyre (CSC5) is destroyed and the rim isn't too healthy either :(
